Trauma/Crisis
Going through very stressful, frightening or distressing events is sometimes called trauma. When we talk about emotional or psychological trauma, we might mean: situations or events we find traumatic. Sometimes we go through traumas that we think are normal. These can cause issues later in life.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT)
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy for people who experience emotions very intensely. It’s a common therapy for people with borderline personality disorder, but helps with many other issues as well.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b) using eye movements.

Trauma History Questionnaire (THQ)
The THQ asks questions about serious or traumatic life events. These types of events actually occur with some regularity, although we would like to believe they are rare. The questionnaire is divided into questions covering crime experiences, general disaster and trauma questions, and questions about physical and sexual experiences.
ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES (ACE)
Childhood experiences can have a significant impact on the rest of your life. This assessment looks at the most common experiences that some might not consider trauma.
DISSOCIATIVE EXPERIENCES SCALE (DES-II)
It is a common coping mechanism for people to dissociate to deal with trauma. This assessment helps determine how often dissociation is occurring.

It is vital that you help the client develop coping mechanisms to help deal with the stress of facing traumatic experiences!
INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (IFS)
Internal Family Systems is an evidenced-based treatment dealing with our inner parts which can allow us to become integrated and whole.
