A budget is a plan you write down to decide how you will spend your money each month. A budget helps you make sure you will have enough money every month.  This is really important for everyone.  But money can be a huge issue in relationships!  Avoiding the fights does not make the problems go away.  Making a budget together can help to make a plan to deal with problem areas in a calm, systematic manner.  As a counselor, there are times you must help clients deal with money issues (the bottom levels of Maslow's Hierarchy) in order to have stability to work on other issues.  Here are some tools to help with that.
